After five years in Silicon Valley and Seattle, Hans returned to Port Townsend in 2005 to work alongside his father, Erik, at Frederickson Electric. He took over the business in 2012 when Erik retired. In 2018, the Jefferson County Chamber named him Business Leader of the Year. Hans is passionate about training the next generation of electricians to live and work in the rural communities surrounding Port Townsend.
“I discovered WSECA after Senate Bill 6126 made apprenticeship the only path for journey-level electricians. When I couldn’t find a program that worked for small, rural contractors, I raised the alarm with my legislators. They encouraged us to organize, and soon after I met Nathan Turner and learned about WSECA’s mission. I’ve been committed ever since to helping WSECA be a strong, common-sense voice for fair regulation in Washington’s electrical industry.”
